Spring 2022 Convocation

Subject to health and safety guidelines, we look forward to celebrating Spring 2022 Convocation in-person. July Convocation Celebration

For those students who celebrated their graduation virtually, Celebrations for 2020 and 2021 graduates will take place July 4-8, 2022. Additional information on July Order of Convocation can be found on the University Secretariat’s website: https://www.uwo.ca/univsec/senate/convocation/index.html

Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I see that I am eligible to graduate?

Potential June graduates can check their status by logging into Student Center. Choose Graduation Status to see your current status and potential convocation date.

Note: Degree conferred will not appear on an Official Transcript until your convocation date in June.

How many tickets will I receive for Spring Convocation?

As in previous in-person convocations, students are limited to 4 guest tickets. More information will be available in mid-May.

Can I still submit a late application for Spring Convocation 2022?

Undergraduate students can complete this form and submit it to Student Central Information Desk or fax to 519-661-3388 by no later than May 12, 2022. Graduate students should just submit the application for the next convocation.

I want to apply for graduation in October, when will that be available?

Application to graduate in October 2022 will open on July 1 for undergraduates and will open for Master's and PhD students May 1, 2022.

When can I get a letter that shows my program is complete?

Once Degree Conferred appears on your Web Academic Report (Unofficial Transcript) you can order an Official Western Letter on your Student Center under Academics > Official Western Letters.  The letter will show that your program is complete.

When can I get a letter that shows my degree is awarded?

Western degrees will be conferred and graduation "awarded" status will be reflected on your letter on the day of convocation for Spring graduates. You can order an Official Western Letter on your Student Center under Academics > Official Western Letters.

When will my transcript show my program is complete?

Your transcript will show program complete once Degree Conferred appears on your Web Academic Report (Unofficial Transcript).

When will my transcript show that my degree has been conferred?

Western degrees will be conferred and graduation "awarded" status will be reflected on official transcripts on the day of your convocation.

How will I receive my diploma?

Diplomas for In Absentia graduates were mailed to the address we had as your HOME address on Student Center.

For Spring graduates please check back in early June.

Can I come on campus to get my degree if I am not vaccinated?

All members of our community – including students, employees and visitors – are required to provide proof of vaccination to be on campus as part of the COVID-19 Vaccination Policy.
Students granted an exemption for medical or creed/religious beliefs are required to participate in Western’s COVID-19 rapid antigen testing program.

How can I order a frame for my diploma?

You can order your diploma frame through The Book Store at Western https://bookstore.uwo.ca/products/bookstore/frames.

How can I cancel my application to graduate?

If you have already applied to graduate and would like to withdraw your application it is recommended that you first contact your home faculty Academic Counselling office for direction.
