Important Dates and Deadlines

These dates and deadlines are primarily for undergraduate students. Graduate students should refer to the sessional dates outlined in the SGPS Regulation 1.01 Calendar of Events.

* Note: Any of the following deadlines that occur on a Saturday, Sunday or Statutory holiday will be extended to the next working day.

2025

May

May 5

  • Summer Distance Studies: 12-week courses and 6-week first-term courses begin
  • Summer Evening: 12-week courses and 6-week first-term courses begin

 

May 9

  • Summer Distance Studies: Last day to add or drop a 12-week course, or a 6-week first-term course. Courses dropped by this date will not appear on a transcript. Courses dropped after this date will appear on a transcript with a grade of ‘WDN’ (withdrawn, without academic penalty)
  • Summer Evening: Last day to add or drop a 12-week course, or a 6-week first-term course. Courses dropped by this date will not appear on a transcript. Courses dropped after this date will appear on a transcript with a grade of ‘WDN’ (withdrawn, without academic penalty).

  • Intersession: 6-week courses and 3-week first-term courses begin

 

May 13

  • Intersession: Intersession: Last day to add or drop a 3-week first-term course. Courses dropped by this date will not appear on a transcript. Courses dropped after this date will appear on a transcript with a grade of ‘WDN’ (withdrawn, without academic penalty)

 

May 15

  • Last day for students on exchange or a letter of permission to submit transcripts for graduation at Spring Convocation
  • Deadline to declare a Discovery Credit for Winter (second-term) or Fall/Winter (full-term) course

 

May 16

  • Last day for students on exchange or a letter of permission to submit transcripts for graduation at Spring Convocation

  • Victoria Day

 

May 26

  • Summer Distance Studies: Last day to withdraw from a 6-week first-term course resulting in a grade of ‘WDN’ (withdrawn, without academic penalty). Course withdrawals after this date will appear on a transcript with a grade of ‘F’

  • Summer Distance Studies: Last day to add or drop a 6-week second-term course. Courses dropped by this date will not appear on a transcript. Courses dropped after this date will appear on a transcript with a grade of ‘WDN’ (withdrawn, without academic penalty)

  • Deadline to request a waiver of the progression requirements
  • Deadline to apply for relief against a program eligibility decision

  • Summer Distance Studies: Deadline to declare a Discovery Credit course
  • Summer Evening: Deadline to declare a Discovery Credit course
  • Summer Day: 6-week courses and 3-week second-term courses end
  • Upper-year tuition deadline: first tuition instalment due

 

August 18-19

  • Summer Day: Examinations

September

September 2

  • Summer Day: Deadline to declare a Discovery Credit course. 
  • Deadline to apply for relief against a final grade in a Summer Evening course

 

September 4

  • Fall/Winter Term classes begin

 

September 12

  • Last day to add a Fall 6-week first quarter ('Q') course
  • Last day to add or drop a Fall/Winter 24-week course or a Fall 12-week course. Courses dropped by this date will not appear on a transcript; no fee penalty. Courses dropped after this date will appear on a transcript with a grade of ‘WDN’ (withdrawn, without academic penalty)

 

September 15

  • Deadline to apply for relief against a final grade in a Summer Day course

 

September 30

  • National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (this is non-instructional day, meaning no classes will be running this day)
