Information for students who are graduating in Fall 2020:

A decision has been made to postpone Western’s fall convocation as part of our larger response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes all scheduled ceremony dates from October 21-23, 2020. There will be no in-person pick up of diplomas this Fall.

For those graduating this fall:

  • In order to keep both our graduates and our campus safe, Western will courier* each graduate’s diploma to their home address, along with a special package of gifts to welcome them to the Western Alumni family. Grads, please ensure your mailing address is accurate in Student Center under ‘Your Current Address’. The deadline to confirm was Wednesday, October 21. Please contact the Registrar’s Office if you have missed this deadline, but need to update your mailing address.
  • Graduates will be celebrated virtually at Last Lecture on October 29, and again back on campus at a future Convocation ceremony when it is safe to do so. Visit the Western Class of 2020 celebration website for details.
  • Graduates are able to rent regalia to take grad photos at home. A gown, hood and cap can be couriered to you, which you return when you’re done. To confirm the hood colour that corresponds to the degree you are obtaining, check in your Student Center under Academics > View Graduation Status.

*provided courier service is available.

If you have any questions or concerns, please use the Office of the Registrar's Live Chat service.
