The application to graduate in Spring 2021 Convocation is now available. Please review our feature story for information.

In-person Spring 2021 convocation ceremonies have been postponed as part of our larger response to the COVID-19 pandemic. If you are approved for convocation, your degree will be conferred on June 18, 2021.

February In Absentia Convocation

To graduate In Absentia means there is no ceremony for the February Convocation. You are automatically invited to participate in the Convocation celebrations that happen in June 2021. It has not yet been determined if those celebrations will be virtual or in-person.

In order to keep both you and our campus safe, Western will courier your diploma to you. Please ensure your mailing address and phone number is accurate in Student Center under ‘Your Current Address’.

Diplomas were shipped between March 1-9. Please check your Western email for tracking information. 

We are unable to offer in-person pick-up for diplomas at this time.

Where can I see that I am eligible to graduate?

Potential February graduates can check their status by logging into Student Center. If you see your degree confer date on your Web Academic Report, you are approved for graduation.
Note: this will not appear on a transcript until February 26.

I want to apply for graduation for June, when will that be available?

Application to graduate in June 2021 opened on March 1. Information about applying to graduate is available on our feature story

When can I get a letter that shows my program is complete?

Once Program Complete appears on your Web Academic Report (Unofficial Transcript) you can order an Official Western Letter on your Student Center under Academics > Official Western Letters.  The letter will show that your program is complete.

Western degrees will be conferred and graduation "awarded" status will be reflected on your letter on February 26, 2021. You can order an Official Western Letter on your Student Center under Academics > Official Western Letters.

When will my transcript show my program is complete?

Your transcript will show program complete once Program Complete appears on your Web Academic Report (Unofficial Transcript).

When will my transcript show that my degree has been conferred?

Western degrees will be conferred and graduation "awarded" status will be reflected on official transcripts on February 26, 2021.

How will I receive my diploma?

In order to keep both you and our campus safe, Western will courier your diploma to you. Please ensure your mailing address and phone number is accurate in Student Center under ‘Your Current Address’. The deadline to update your address is Friday, February 19. Diplomas will be shipped beginning in March.

Can I get my diploma and still walk on in a future ceremony?

Yes, you can get your diploma and still participate in a future ceremony.

How can I order a frame for my diploma?

You can order your diploma frame through The Book Store at Western. When you order a diploma frame you will receive a free 5x7" matching portrait frame—offer available from February 15 to March 15, 2021, while supplies last. Shop frames here: https://bookstore.uwo.ca/products/bookstore/frames.
