Canada Post Strike Update
Due to the current Canada Post strike, the Office of the Registrar will be unable to mail out transcripts and Official Western Letters to a Canadian address via Canada Post.
Transcripts and Official Western Letters sent by courier (such as FedEx or Purolator) will continue to be delivered without interruption.
How to order a Transcript during the Canada Post strike
eTranscripts
Western University’s official eTranscripts are issued through MyCreds, powered by Digitary, a leading digital credential expert and platform for certifying, sharing, and verifying academic credentials in a secure digital format.
These digital transcripts can be shared securely with educational institutions, employers, government authorities, and other third parties. You can quickly access official transcripts and share them worldwide making for faster decision-making for employers and educational institutions.
Couriers
Western University uses FedEx courier services. If you need to order a transcript via mail, you can choose different courier options. For a list of courier fees, visit the “Fees, Delivery Methods, and Processing” tab of our Transcript page.
Pickup
Students who attended prior to 1984 are still limited to hard copy transcripts ordered through PurplePay. If you graduated before 1984 you will need the name you attended Western under and your student number to complete the order. If you do not know your student number you can give us a call and we will help you retrieve it 519-661-2100.
Release of Information
Students can add a Release of Information to a third party allowing them to pick up their transcript on campus on their behalf. Once the release of information has been granted the third party can pick up the transcript in person at Student Central.
If you require delivery in a timely manner, we recommend using the courier option or picking up your transcript in person.
How to order an Official Western Letter during the Canada Post strike
Courier
Western University uses FedEx courier services. Students can log in to Student Center using your Western User ID and Password to submit an online request under the View and Order Documents tile > Order Official Western Letter.
Note: Due to Payment Card Industry requirements, we are unable to process any requests received via email
Pickup
Students can order an Official Western Letter will be held for pickup in person at Student Central. Letters ordered for pickup are held for 6 months.
Release of Information
Students can add a Release of Information to a third party allowing them to pick up their transcript on campus on their behalf. Once the release of information has been granted the third party can pick up the transcript in person at Student Central.
How to make a tuition payment during the Canada Post strike
Internet Banking
Due to the current Canada Post strike, it is strongly encouraged students pay tuition via Internet Banking instead of mailing a cheque.
Internet banking is available through all major Canadian banks.
Payments must be received in our office by the fee due date. Allow 2-3 business days for payment to be processed to your account.
