Do you have anticipated aid?

Students who have been awarded an Admission Scholarship, Bursary or an Upper year scholarship will see the funding under Anticipated Aid until mid-September when it is applied to your fee account. If you see an amount under Anticipated Aid by the first installment deadline, you can deduct that amount from your 1st installment.

Anticipated Aid

Note for First-Year Students: If you are eligible for an admission scholarship based on your final admission average (Western Scholarship of Distinction, Western Admission Scholarship), it will be applied to your 2nd installment due December 2. This amount cannot be deducted from your first installment.

OSAP/Out of Province loans are NOT considered anticipated aid and will not show here.

Do you have OSAP?

Are your remaining fees deferred until your OSAP arrives in September?

Do you see the link ‘What do I owe in addition to OSAP?’ If yes, click the link.

Tuition installment details

If the Amount Due is greater than $0 you must pay that amount out of pocket and have the payment show on your Statement of Account by the due date to avoid late penalties. Late penalties will be assessed monthly at a rate of 1.5% of the overdue balance.

Note: if your 1st installment of OSAP is greater than the amount you see OSAP sending to Western, the difference will be sent to you via direct deposit with the account you setup on your MSFAA.

Do you have Out of Province (OOP) loans?

If you are an Out of Province (OOP) student who did not received an OOP loan last year, you need to submit a Virtual Helpline – Out of Province (OOP) loans before your due date to ensure your tuition is deferred.

If this is not your first year of receiving OOP loans we will defer your 1st installment of tuition until September 30 and your OOP loans are processed and released.

How can you pay?

We recommend students with a Canadian bank account pay online through Internet Banking.

For International students we recommend Convera GlobalPay for Students (Preferred Method).

Once you have paid your fees, keep a copy of your receipt. We do not require you to send us anything.

Please allow 3-5 business days processing for it to appear on your Student Center as a credit.

Note: Tuition and residence payments cannot be made in person. As well, Western University does not accept cash, Internet e-mail money transfers or credit cards for payment of tuition or residence fees. Any company or organization that offers the opportunity to pay fees by credit card is not associated with Western. If you choose to use such a service, you should be aware that:

  • You will remain responsible for all fees should for any reason the fees payment not be processed;
  • You will be paying a fee to the company over and above Western’s fees;
  • You will be required to provide personal information, including your student number, to the company.

Western does not encourage the use of third party payment services.

Late payment penalties

Late penalties will be assessed monthly at a rate of 1.5% of the overdue balance. For example, based on an overdue balance of $4,500, the interest charges would be approximately $2.25 per day. The monthly accumulation of these charges will be added to accounts on the last business day of each month. Please ensure your tuition payment reaches our office by the tuition deadline to avoid such penalties.

A sealing fee of $70 may be applied to delinquent accounts when a hold is added to prevent further registration and prohibit some services.
