Winter Break Extension for Students

Students received an email from President Alan Shepard on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 with information regarding the winter break extension.

Student Central will be closed for both in-person and chat services beginning December 23.

Transcripts, Third Party Forms and Official Western Letters will not be completed after December 22 while the office is closed until we reopen January 4, 2021.

We will reopen for chat on January 4, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. and resume in-person services on January 11, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. For our business hours, visit our Contact us page.


The holiday break has been extended; undergraduate classes will now resume on January 11, 2021.

Students in graduate and professional programs should consult their home programs for more information on activities that will start January 4.

Students with placements and internships should consult with their employer.

Western Residences will reopen on January 10, 2021.

Final exams

Many dates remain as currently scheduled, including Spring Reading Week. These dates are now updated in the Academic Calendar and Student Center.

Note: Special Examinations and make-ups should not be scheduled to occur until classes have resumed on January 11, 2021. The Special Examinations policy will remain in effect, with alternative dates approved by the Dean of the student’s Faculty of registration in consultation with the Instructor and Chair of the Department offering the course.
