Western students have been targeted by phishing attempts to retrieve student ID, passwords and other sensitive personal information. An example of a recent phishing attempt is below:
Note that Student Financial Services does not issue refunds that require you to login to accept. Refunds are generated by student request, or students will receive advance notification that a refund will be processed on a given date. Your account balance can be confirmed by logging into Student Center.
If you have a concern regarding the legitimacy of an email regarding your finances at Western, email email@example.com. All phishing emails should be deleted immediately.
