Where and When to Pick Up Your Western ONECard

Students Living in Residence
If you upload your photo by August 15th, you will receive your Western ONECard with your residence move-in package. You will be required to show GOVERNMENT-ISSUED PHOTO IDENTIFICATION when you pick up your card.

If you uploaded your photo and government-issued photo ID late, after August 15, we will do our best to have your card ready in time to be included in your move-in package but there are no guarantees.  Check with your residence first to see if your card is available when you move in and, if not, proceed to Western Student Services building for pickup during regular business hours.

Students Living Off-Campus in London
If you uploaded your photo and government-issued photo ID by August 15, you can pick up your Western ONECard in the lobby of the Western Student Services building (in front of Student Central).

Pickup will be available between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday to Friday.

You will be required to show GOVERNMENT-ISSUED PHOTO IDENTIFICATION when you pick up your card and only you can pick it up. Expect long wait times due to physical distancing requirements.

Students who uploaded after August 15
If you upload your photo and government-issued photo ID any time after August 25 we will require at least two business days to create your card.


Brescia Students
Students who are living in residence can pick up their cards at Brescia on move-in day if you uploaded by August 15th.  Off-Campus students can pick up their cards from the Bottega.  If you upload your photo and government-issued photo ID any time after August 15 we will require at least two business days to create your card and it will be available in the Western Student Services building.

Huron Students
Huron will be communicating with you about how you’ll get your Western ONECard.

Medicine and Dentistry Students
The Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry has confirmed that you will picking up your cards in the Western Student Services building. If you upload your photo and government-issued photo ID after August 25 we will require at least two business days to create your card.

What to bring when you pick up your WesternONECard

To pick up your Western ONECard you must present one piece of government-issued photo identification such as:

  • Driver’s license;
  • Citizenship card;
  • Passport;
  • Other government-issued photo ID.


What Is Your Western ONECard?

Your Western ONECard is more than just a Photo ID Card. The Western ONECard functions as an identification card for exams and bus pass; is your library card; your meal plan card; and can be used for door access and vending machine purchases.  It is also required to access Campus Recreation and to pick up a parking permit or keys.

Photo Instructions for Your Western ONECard 

Upload a Photo
The photo upload service for the Western ONECard is now available through the Student Center. The deadline to upload your photo and have it ready for move-in or the start of pickup was Sunday, August 15, 2021.

Please follow the Western ONECard Photo Standards by uploading a photo of yourself:

  • Without headphones or sunglasses, looking straight into the camera
  • That is a headshot of your entire face
  • That is not a scan of another photograph or your driver’s license or health card
  • That is good quality, not blurry or grainy or too dark
  • That is in colour, not black and white and has no filters
